1. Scope and acceptance
These Terms of Service apply to booking requests sent directly through the Chalé da Calçada website and to bookings subsequently confirmed as a result of those requests.
By sending a booking request, the guest confirms that the information provided is accurate and that they have read these terms. Submitting a request does not, by itself, constitute a confirmed booking.
2. Booking request and confirmation
The website form allows guests to check available dates and prices and send a request. A booking is confirmed only after the guest receives an express confirmation identifying the stay and the applicable conditions.
Availability and price are checked again when the request is processed. If the dates are no longer available, the request will not be confirmed and the guest will be informed.
3. Prices and payment
The price shown for a stay is based on the available rate for each selected night, which may include base prices and seasonal prices. The applicable amount is the one communicated with the request and confirmed before the booking is concluded.
The public form does not take payments. Payment methods, deadlines and any applicable payment conditions are communicated to the guest when the booking is confirmed.
4. Cancellation by the guest
When a guest cancels a confirmed booking:
- at least 14 days before the check-in date, the guest is entitled to a refund of 100% of the amount paid for the booking;
- less than 14 days before the check-in date, the guest is not entitled to a refund and 100% of the amount paid for the booking will be retained.
To allow the cancellation to be handled, the guest must communicate the decision through the channel used for the booking and clearly identify the relevant booking.
5. Force majeure refunds
If extraordinary circumstances prevent the guest from completing the stay, the guest may be entitled to a full refund, subject to review of the circumstances and submission of supporting documents.
Force majeure circumstances may include, among other events of an equivalent nature: natural disasters; travel restrictions imposed by public authorities; an officially declared public health emergency; military action; widespread disruption of public utilities; the death of a guest included in the booking; or the death of the guest’s immediate family member, namely a parent, spouse, sibling or child.
For requests made directly, Chalé da Calçada will review the documents, communicate the decision to the guest and, where a refund is due, process that refund.
6. Bookings through platforms
Where a booking was concluded through Holidu or another platform or intermediary, that provider’s terms, deadlines and procedures may also apply, including document checks and refund processing.
In those cases, the guest should submit the cancellation or refund request through the channel used to make the booking. If procedures for payment or refunds differ, the mandatory terms communicated by the platform for that booking will apply, without prejudice to the guest’s legal rights.
7. Final information
Nothing in these terms limits consumer rights that cannot be excluded under applicable law. Questions about a booking should be sent through the contact page and include the booking reference.
Personal data used to handle requests, cancellations and refunds is processed under the Privacy Policy. The use of cookies and similar technologies is explained in the Cookie Policy.
